• GENERAL ATTIRE NOTES

  Dancers may wear a plain, solid-colored, thin headband - no flowers or other embellishments. No loose hair or jewelry. Hair should always be pulled back off the face. Label all shoes, bags, clothes, etc. Proper dance attire and shoes must be worn to take class, so dress for success! Look the part, and dress like a dancer!

• COMBO CLASSES FOR AGES 3-6

  (TAP/BALLET COMBOS and PRE JAZZ/HIP HOP COMBOS)

  PRE JAZZ/HIP HOP COMBOS: See “Hip Hop, Cardio Strength & Stretch” section description below. TAP/BALLET COMBOS: Dress-up clothes, tu-tus and long skirts are not permitted. These are considered “costumes” and not the proper dance attire for the Tap/Ballet Combo Classes. Do not substitute slip-on bed slippers for ballet shoes. Please remove the bows/ties from tap shoes and replace with elastic tap ties that can be purchased at dance supply stores. Footed tights are to be worn with the leotard. GIRLS: Leotard, any color/style. Footed tights. “Mary Jane” style tap shoes, pink ballet shoes. Ballet skirts are acceptable.

   

  BOYS: T-shirt, tights, tap & ballet shoes.

• JAZZ, LYRICAL, LEAPS & TURNS, CONTEMPORARY, MODERN,

  DANCE TEAM PREP

  GIRLS: Leotard, any color/style. Convertible or regular tights with dance trunks. Black jazz pants may be worn in place of tights and trunks. Students may wear tight fitting tank tops or camisoles over their leotard, but no t-shirts are allowed. In Levels 4 and 5, students are able to wear a sports bra in lieu of a leotard. Split sole jazz shoes, any color. No dance sneakers or dance paws. For Modern, bare feet are OK. Hair is to be pulled back and off the face.

   

  BOYS: Fitted t-shirt and shorts or jazz pants. Split sole jazz shoes, any color.

• BALLET, POINTE

  GIRLS: Pink full footed tights (must fully cover the foot), pink ballet slippers (Pointe shoes for Pointe class), and leotard in the color for your level: Level1=Pale Pink, Level2=Light Blue, Level3=Lavendar, Level4=Burgundy Level5=Black, Teen Ballet = Pink footed tights and any solid color leotard, pink ballet shoes. Leotards should not have prints or be skirted. Hair is to be pulled back and in a proper bun. No loose hair or jewelry. Additional clothing such as t-shirts, shorts, warm-ups, skirts, shiny tights, or shiny leotards are not acceptable. No visible undergarments are to be worn under leotards or tights; all leotards have shelf liners that provide sufficient support, and students should find a leotard that provides them a sufficient level of support.

   

  BOYS: White t-shirt & black footed tights, or unitard. Black ballet shoes. Shirt must be tucked in.

   

• TAP

  GIRLS: Leotard, any color/style. Convertible or regular tights with dance trunks. Black jazz pants may be worn in place of tights and trunks. Students may wear tight-fitting tank tops or camisoles over their leotard, but no t-shirts. Tap oxford shoes. Hair is to be pulled back and off the face.

   

  BOYS: Fitted t-shirt and shorts or jazz pants. Tap oxford shoes.

• HIP HOP, CARDIO STRENGTH & STRETCH

  Clothing that allows for movement and tennis shoes. Do not wear sandals, slip ons, flats, jeans or jean shorts, dresses or skirts, tutus, or any movement-prohibitive clothing. During inclement weather, please bring an additional pair of shoes (clean shoes) other than what you wear into the lobby - this is very important for the maintenance of the dance floors.
